Free basic dog training offered through PAWSitive Helpers!
Congratulations on the newest member to your household! We would like to help your dog start off on the right paw. We have openings for 6 dogs for the Winter 2017 program.
PAWSitive Helpers is a program that pairs sheltered, fostered or recently adopted dogs with a personal youth dog trainer. These adolescents will teach your dog basic skills using positive reinforcement methods. Each participant will be paired with a dog for a one-hour session twice a week for 6 weeks.
Your dog will learn to interpret human cues and improve social, cognitive and motor development with training. Your dog will also build trust in a safe and positively rewarding environment.
If you are interested, you must commit to have your dog participate throughout the 6-week session as our youth are counting on it.
Winter 2017 classes will start February 7. Classes are held 3:30-5:30 pm at the Midland Reformed Church, 1100 North Saginaw Rd. We may be able to provide some assistance with transportation, please contact us as soon as possible.
