PAWSitive Helpers is a program offered by Partners in Change. PAWSitive Helpers promotes positive human-animal interaction to improve the emotional and psychological lives of adolescents while providing support to local animal rescue organizations.
Using Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) to accomplish the program’s mission, adolescents will receive hands-on experience training hard-to-adopt dogs from rescue organizations. The goal of this relationship is to prepare dogs for adoption and keep dogs adopted. Adolescents involved in this program will learn important life skills that will assist them in attaining future success.
PAWSitive Helpers also provides education to the community about dog-related topics, such as: positive training techniques, dog body language, breed specific legislation, dog fighting, puppy mills, humane treatment of animals, responsible pet ownership, and careers working with animals.
In a perfect world, every dog would have a home, and
every home would have a dog.
